Osijek - medeival city for modern times

Osijek is a capital of Slavonia and Baranja region. First informations about Osijek were found in time of Roman empiry. In that time the name was Mursa. Medeival city was built during the Turkish empiry and in present time we can look how it was in that times. Come to Osijek! It is worth to explore an old streets of medeival Osijek.

This street in Tvrdja (Citadel) is a heart of the nightlife for young people. Here are situated bars, night clubs, restaurants, Irish pubs (!)...

This river is called Drava. Sunset on Drava is something for remebmer.

If you would like to spend quiet holidays, come in Osijek, Croatia. Here you can go to fishing, travel into Kopacki rit, protected park of the nature, ride horses, walk around in any time (even in the middle of the night) and enjoy!

In my next story we shall visit Aljmas and Erdut, area of wineyards and wine roads, agro-tourism, religious tourism, area of the river Danube, etc.

Croatia Experience

We landed at Osijek Klisa international airport. Transportation to Osijek is not expensive and is organized by airport. As I said before starting a trip, my hotel will be four stars small hotel Waldinger, in the very center of Osijek. Despite bad weather I walked around to the main square, but my first experiences you can read in next days.

Croatia Experience

I was looking for the easiest way to find accomodation in Croatia, just to avoid sleeping outside of hotel. Winter in continental part of Croatia can be very cold... So I found a web page www.adriatica.net and made a reservation in one small hotel in Osijek. As it is my first visit to Croatia, I will just wait with comments and prepare myself for this adventure.

Croatia Experience

Hello! This is to be my first travel into Croatia, a small country in the middle of Europe. As I know, Croatia is a very beautiful country, with symphatic people and a lot of interesting places to visit.

There are several possible ways to come: by airline from USA to Germany and to Croatia; by sea cruiser, by river cruiser, by train, by car... My plan is to start a trip by airline to Germany and continue by charter to Osijek-Klisa international airport. Then follows excursion to Osijek, Kopacki rit, Aljmas, Erdut, Vukovar, Ilok and we shall see how it will be possible to go around the country. I hope so to finish in Dubrovnik. My friends told me that there is available wireless public internet connection so you can read my reports almost in live! See you soon...
